10 qualities you are grateful for. Not things, not possessions, but personal traits, skills, powers… that make you unique.
1. My instincts
2. My athletic abilities
3. My writing
4. My ability to learn quickly
5. My ability to adapt
6. My curiousity (though that can sometimes get me into trouble)
7. My ability to difuse a hostile situation
8. My ability to connect with animals
9. My ability to predict the weather better than the pro’s
10. My ability to stay calm in an emergency situation
10 people you compliment. Not their hair, clothes or car. But something personal and meaningful.
1. I told a trainee who was reluctant to learn how to troubleshoot computer problems that they caught on very quick and I was impressed on how they soaked in the material without any prior training with computers at all. I told them that I’ve never seen anything like it.
2. My compliments to the Chef!
3. In a brainstorm session while everyone else that that someone put in a bad idea, I told them it was a great idea! The person kept pouring out ideas. It would have been easier to keep quiet, but she really did have a good idea
4. I praised a fellow writer about their latest work.
5. I told someone who is retiring that the workplace is not going to be the same without them as they were such a wonderful figure for everyone to look up to. It’s like losing your best friend.
6. I told my friend that she has kick @$$ biking abilities.
7. I told another friend that their courage is admirable and her patience on waiting for a new job was out of this world. Her patience did pay off. She has her dream job.
8. I told someone that I really respect and value their opinions and viewpoints.
10 people you have inspired or changed or touched in some way. Dig deep, they are there.
1. I stood behind my brother when he wanted to go into the hospitality industry… He’s doing great in it now and is working on his degree.
2. I didn’t walk away from a friend after their suicide attempt.
3. A friend was hiding behind their learning disability. I told her about mine and asked “Do I look like the kind of person who can’t do things?” Guess what they are doing GREAT and doesn’t acknowledge that term that can be so devestating to people.
I can’t think of anything else…
